Eli had an easier day today, just his marrow boost and school. He was a little droopy today, too, but he did do a lot of talking when he was laying around. I'm a little concerned tonight because he has a runny nose and his ANC is at zero. A simple cold virus could be devestating for him - us. I'm watching his temp regularly through the night tonight, fun. I always hope to bring you good news because I am a positive person and I never want this site to be something anybody dreads to come to, that would be so against the original thought, but it is difficult in this environment to have "long-term" truly good news. Please, pray for the family of a boy named Wesley who just lost his fight to recurrent medullo a few days ago. I do not know them, I think they are from Indiana and he would have been about 8, but his dad does an excellent job of following medullo research and I happened up on his FB page looking for information as I do my own gathering of info that is daunting. Even if I understood it, it would be a challenge to keep it straight. The picture tonight is of Eli on one of our walks around the complex here at Target House.

  1. Hi Kristie...just thinking of you and always praying that everyday will be a good day for you. Here's a sweet little story I got in an e-mail this week about keeping it positive.

    Attitude
There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today.'
So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
'H-M-M,' she said, 'I think I'll part my hair down the middle today.'
So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed
that she had only one hair on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail.'
So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and
noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
'YAY!' she exclaimed. 'I don't have to fix my hair today!'

    Attitude is everything.
