To save a bush a beating, I will tell you straight up this was an incredibly emotional day starting with the night before when I put Caleb to bed. Eli and I are now in a room with a view of the pyramid from the Grizzlies House at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He is in good spirits, he knows that he gets extra attention when he is here. He knows what he is about to do, but his brain can’t ...fathom the breadth of it. I don’t know that I can fathom the breadth of it. And, I just like writing “breadth” because when I say it, it just sounds like “breath” so that makes the word useless for speaking. It is a surreal sensation to be charging down a path you didn’t choose, one on which you cannot get off or turn around. There is no towel to throw in, so you put the gloves on and start swinging. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers as we begin this final showdown
